Get involved with the "Right to Health Care".

Please support this Right to Health Care Project and this website (tax-exempt donations).  We are in desperate need of funding (without any foundation or institutional support).  Don't forget to tell friends and colleagues about this website and project.  Try to help us with publicity around the issue.  Mention this website in a letter to the editor in your local newspaper.  Or when you call in to "talk radio" on health care.

The few state UHC organizations with a strategy that explicitly encompasses recognition of a Right to Health Care are: NC, MA, MI and FL. Click on any of these state abbreviations to find out more. Or read an overview of state actions on the Right to Health Care. Overview

A great way to get involved is also to support the "Right to Health Care" is through any of the state UHC organizations tackling the grassroots education needed to make it a reality.  See list of state UHC organizations. Most (not all) of these are working on the "Right to Health Care". Please let them now that our project led you to them.

You might try to engage the UHC organization in your state to discuss the issue with you and see if you can move them to an understanding of why the "Right to Health Care" is such an important part of UHC work .  Perhaps soon all the state UHC organizations will all embrace the "Right to Health Care", as most already do. View list of state UHC organizations which are not currently including the idea of Right to Health Care in their work CLICK HERE.

Join Our Discussion Forum (email) on the Right to Health Care. Go to Yahoo's list-serve discussion groups and search for "Right to Health Care" or CLICK HERE.

Some UHC organizations (and organizations involved in other levels of health care reform) also promote the Right to Health Care, although several say that they do or use the slogan but do not take it as a serious part of their strategy, so remain skeptical. Ask them what they are doing to promote the Right to Health Care. When appropriate ask them how they can use the slogan "Right to Health Care" while they pursue small or incremental health reforms which will only give certain people access to care. Ask them how these pursuits are any different than such work which has been going on for the last 50 years and how it could possibly establish a new Health Care System now. Ask them why the insurance industry would also back their same strategy of small steps which they claim will resolve the crisis of Uninsured Americans.

Remember, most importantly, talk to friends, family, neighbors and co-workers about the Right to Health Care..
